How I love the timeless words of this hymn by Edward Mote. In these days in which we walk before and with The Lord, how vital it is that we put our trust in Him and in the everlasting Truth of His Living Word. Do not trust in world systems, in any human government or any other with all your heart, soul, mind and strength but in Christ Himself. All that people trust in will be shaken and will be found to sway and collapse. We must build our lives upon The Rock which is The LORD Himself.
My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Refrain: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne.
